Events

The Emergency Management Network hosts and supports a number of workshops, seminars and promotes relevant conferences in relation to emergency mangement and the impact of climate change. The Network hosts visiting international as well as Australian based academics, researchers and agency experts in climate change adaptation, natural disasters and  emergency response.  Some events are open to members of the public as well as policy makers, student researchers and agency personel, while others are forums where research is diseminated, discussed and reviewed by network members responding to a topic of interest.

Seminars and Workshops

Although the Network is administered from Melbourne seminars and workshops are hosted in different cities and centres throughout Australia. The seminars and workshops are characterised by different formats, interactive, lecture style, and intensive participatory workshops. Topics have included extreme heat,  floods  bushfires and comunity resilience.      

Conferences

The Network supports and promotes various conferences, international and national, which have relevance to the broad interests of the Network. In some cases support for post graduate students to attend  particular conferences is made available.
