National Adaptation Research Plan

NCCARF in its role in leading the research community to generate the biophysical, social and economic information needed by decision makers in government and relevant vulnerable sectors and communities to manage the risks of climate change impacts, has develop a series of thematic research Plans.
A National Adaptation Research Plan (NARP) has been developed or is under development for each of the identified thematic networks.
The Emergency Management National Adaptation Research plan has been drafted and identifies the priority research required to enhance community and organisational resilience to the risks posed by climate change in relation to Emergency Management. Three overarching strands of research have been articulated to meet this objective;
- Understanding the location of risk posed by climate change.
- Identifying the most effective means to enhance community and organisational resilience.
- Developing adaptive strategies to respond to climate change for use by the community and emergency services.
